Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow has just recently revealed that she was diagnosed with osteopenia—a similar disease to the more serious osteoporosis. The 37-year-old actress may have bones of an 80-year-old woman.
“I suffered a pretty severe tibial plateau fracture a few years ago (requiring surgery) which led the orthopedic surgeon to give me a bone scan, at which point it was discovered I had the beginning stages of osteopenia,” the actress revealed.
Paltrow follows a diet where it’s discouraged to eat dairy and red meat. Rather, the diet focuses on vegetables, whole grains, fruit and fish. Nutritionist Sharon Natoli explains that “if she’s doing a lot of exercise but not getting enough protein, she’s not getting enough to build her bones either.”
With that said, is Miss Paltrow’s diet doing her more harm than good?
